Established in Perth, Western Australia, Moombarriga offered state-of-the-art MT acquisition and modelling services, establishing a small but loyal customer base in government agencies, mineral and geothermal exploration companies. Moombarriga established a reputation for delivering the highest quality data, remaining on the leading edge of hardware and software developments, providing expertise in all aspects of MT surveying.
Moombarriga Canada was opened in XXXX, expanding service provision to Canada. In 2018 Moombarriga acquired Search Exploration Services, a specialised IP acquisition company, known for their development of proprietary, high-powered IP transmitters, enabling Moombarriga to deliver high-powered IP/RES surveying services to the Australian market. Most recently, Moombarriga have opened an office in the US, finding an eager market for their high-quality data acquisition services and expert data analysis and modelling services.
Moombarriga have fostered collaborative relationships with MT and IP experts in both public and private companies as well as universities and research institutions, to continue to enhance our technical services and embrace new technologies. Moombarriga’s technical team have over 100 years combined experience in MT survey design, data analysis, modelling and interpretation.

Thomas Hoskin PhD
General Manager
Tom graduated UWA in 2009 spending some time working as an exploration geologist.
In 2017 he completed his PhD using MT to map deep sedimentary basins. Throughout his studies he worked for Moombarriga gaining industry experience.
He joined Moombarriga full time in 2018.
Shane Evans MSc
Director
Shane graduated from Curtin University in 1998 with an honors degree in geophysics and began working in diamond exploration for DeBeers, developing a keen interest in large scale crustal investigation using MT. He completed his Master’s degree in Geophysics at Queens University, Canada, under the supervision of Alan Jones. In 2003, he returned to DeBeers, this time in Johannesburg, conducting numerous surveys in central and southern Africa, Canada and India, including the SAMTEX experiment.
In 2005, Shane returned to Perth and established Moombarriga Geoscience.
Jessica Spratt MSc
Senior Geophysicist
Jessica graduated from Carleton University, Canada, in 2001. During her studies she interned with the Geological Survey of Canada (Ottawa) in the MT group, and completed her honours thesis in MT in 2001. Jessica completed her Master’s thesis in applied MT in 2003 at Syracuse University, New York, returning to the Geological Survey of Canada as an MT specialist, later moving to the Dublin Institute of Advanced Studies.

Benjamin Murphy PhD
Senior Geophysicist
US-based Ben comes to us from the USGS, specialised in MT inversion for mineral systems.
A Physical scientist with a strong, diverse background in the Geosciences, Ben has a special interest in synthesising geophysical, geochemical, geospatial, and geological data and observations in order to understand the Earth.
Noelene Evans
Project Lead & HR
Noelene has worked with Moombarriga since 2017, cutting her geophysical teeth and leading acquisition teams. She moved into management in 2023, bringing her broad range of skills and experience, developed across multiple industries, to her role as Project Leader and HR.

Mike has worked globally in several primary industries, particularly rural agricultural and mineral exploration.
His extensive experience and tenacity made him an exemplary candidate for operations manager at Moombarriga, a role he started in 2018.

Marie has worked in a diverse range of industries, including trucking, international shipping, and multinational corporate logistics.
Marie joined Moombarriga in 2017, bringing extensive expertise and experience to the company.
