Global acquisition and geoscience services.
Moombarriga's unique services include international acquisition of magnetotelluric, induced polarisation and resistivity surveys, with offices in Australia, Canada and the United States, as well as data processing, modelling and interpretation.
Geophysical Modelling & Interpretation
Moombarriga Geoscience offer expert Magnetotelluric consulting services for end-to-end survey solutions.
- Training for staff on the capabilities and practicalities of undertaking and interpreting MT surveying
- Expert third party review, remodeling and interpretation of existing datasets
- Advanced inversion approaches for inversion of MT data with complementary geological and geophysical datasets
Moombarriga provide single domain or joint 3D inversion services for Audi Frequency Magnetic (AFMAG) datasets, e.g., ZTEM and Mobile MT, and gravity. We work closely with clients to ensure robust results, reliable interpretations and greater understanding about their targets.
Magnetotelluric (MT) Surveys
Magnetotelluric (MT) surveys map electrical resistivity of the subsurface and are one of the most effective tools for deep (>3 km) imaging of the Earth, mapping deep seated structures, fluid pathways and alteration zones. It’s sensitivity and depth of investigation make it highly applicable to a wide range of commodities and exploration scales, providing valuable insights at the district, camp and deposit scales.
Moombarriga tailor survey designs to optimise acquisition while ensuring data and model integrity and can provide high-quality MT data in the frequency range 10,000 Hz – 0.00005 Hz.
Advanced inversion algorithms and access to high-performance computational resources allow Moombarriga to thoroughly test model parameters and anomalous features.
High Power Acquisition Induced Polarisation (IP) and Resistivity (Res)
IP/Res surveying maps both the electrical resistivity and the ability of the Earth to hold charge (chargeability). A transmitter is used to inject current into the Earth and receiving electrodes are used to measure resistivity and chargeability.
Zones of high chargeability are often associated with the presence of disseminated sulfides and IP/Res surveying is an effective exploration tool for gold, copper, VMS systems and manganese.
Depth of investigation and quality of data for an IP/Res survey depend on getting current into the ground. Using their proprietary transmitter technology and rigorous deployment techniques, Moombarriga are able to provide the highest transmitted current.
