Discover the hidden depths.

Magnetotelluric Surveys (MT)

Moombarriga employ a variety of acquisition systems that offer both high-quality data and the flexibility to tailor survey specifications to optimise results. All systems acquire satellite-synchronised data at different sample rates to ensure data products cover the frequency range (depth) of interest while achieving good production rates.

  • Phoenix

Phoenix Geophysics manufacture the robust MTU-5A and MTU-5C 24-bit data recorders designed specifically for the acquisition of MT data. Recorders are coupled with Phoenix magnetic induction coils which provide excellent signal sensitivity and are reliable, lightweight and designed to be effective in the most demanding of environments.

  • Metronix

Metronix Geophysics manufactures the flexible ADU07e 24-bit data recorders, predominantly used for the acquisition of MT data but can also be used to acquire CSAMT and CSEM data. Moombarriga operates the ADU07e systems with the versatile MFS06e magnetic induction coils which provide excellent signal sensitivity over a broad range of frequencies.

3D Inversion

RLM Inversion Suite

MT, AFMAG and gravity data are inverted using the Viridien’s RLM suite, leveraging the power of high-performance computational resources to deliver results in short timeframes – days, not weeks.

The RLM code is highly efficient and scalable allowing models of thousands to millions of cells to be inverted efficiently. Moombarriga have been utilising the RLM for MT modelling since 2018.

Induced Polarisation

Moombarriga combine the leading transmitter technology developed by Search Exploration Services with the high-fidelity and robust SmarTEM receivers developed by EMIT to deliver reliable and efficient IP/Res surveys.

  • Search High Power Transmitters – WB Series

Search Exploration was well known for its range of high-powered IP transmitters designed specifically for Australian conditions. The WB series of transmitters were designed to provide high power and flexibility in both voltage and current to ensure good signal strength in almost any ground condition. Moombarriga operates a fleet of transmitters that can be used with any receiver system and vary in size from 10-120kVA and delivering current at up to 4kV.

  • SMARTem24

EMIT (Electromagnetic Imaging Technology) manufacture the SMARTem24, a 24-bit digital receiver for IP and EM surveying. The SMARTem24 delivers the highest quality data and unparalleled efficiency in the field, thanks to its compact and robust design. With powerful signal processing software, the SMARTem receiver provides high-quality full-time series recordings.

Time Domain Electromagnetics (EM)

Moombarriga leverage local manufacturing expertise and support combining GeoResults DRTX Transmitter, capable of loop currents up to 120A, with the EMIT SMARTem24 and SMART Fluxgate Magnetometers.

  • SMART Fluxgate

The SMART Fluxgate from EMIT is a powerful sensor for measurement of low frequency magnetic fields. Rugged and simple to calibrate and use, these systems are ideal for application in Australian environments.

  • DRTX

Designed for downhole, fixed and moving loop surveys, the GeoResults DRTX provided a robust, high-powered source for transient electromagnetic surveys. The DRTX also incorporates advanced hardware protection, ensuring exceptional safety during operation.
